Albie’s Elevator Launch Campaign

Albie’s Elevator is an original public television program on WHYY-TV 12 for preschool-age audiences. The show follows puppet Albie, the self-appointed elevator operator of her building. With the help of her neighbors, Albie explores the ups and downs of preschool problem-solving through the arts. It is the first children’s show from WHYY filmed in-house. With the launch of this exciting new show, show producers requested a full marketing campaign. Components of the campaign included a full library of at-home educational lesson plans to accompany each episode, a social media launch, and additional physical marketing materials.

Six Albie’s Elevator lesson plans were awarded a 55th Annual Public Media Award by NETA (the National Educational Telecommunications Association). They were recognized under the category “Educational Resources for the Community”. Lisa Wilk accepted the award on behalf of WHYY in Grand Rapids, Michigan on Sunday, September 10, 2023.

Recognized lesson plans included: Box Town, Talent Show, Lily Pad Crown, Afraid of the Dark, The Blue Rectangle, and Rock Marathon.
